Reduce soreness, minimize blisters, keep feet dry, and regulate foot temperature with wool! Great for hikers, skiers, dancers, runners, skiers and any other sport where shoes are involved.
"Walking wool" or anti-pressure wool is an old solution for all kinds of complaints of the feet. It is appropriate for both preventative and therapeutic use in shoes, hiking boots, dance slippers, and other footwear to combat pressure points, sores, and blisters. It can also be used to prevent surface friction against sensitive skin recovering from wounds and amputations and for heel spurs or cold feet.
Why our wool?
• Natural blister prevention: wool is moisture absorbing, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, and in our case, processed without added chemicals. It also breathes, which is another reason why it is effective for this application.
• Lanolin-rich: we have deliberately used the fibre from the fine wool breed Targhee, which has a higher amount of lanolin than other fibre. Lanolin, a natural oil derived from sheep's wool, offers several benefits for the skin, including hydration, protection, and healing.
• Eco-friendly option: Wool is renewable & biodegradable
• 100% Canadian Wool and a Made in Canada product. More specifically, our wool is grown and processed on our farm just outside of Thunder Bay.
Use: Select a piece of wool and wrap it around any area of your foot. Use your sock to control placement (tape isn't needed). Reusable. It is best to use wool as a preventative measure prior to a blister or sore actually developing; once a blister has developed, wool can only be used to reduce discomfort. Do not use it directly on broken skin.
Amount: 10 grams; good for 20-30 applications
Source: This wool is grown and processed here at Borderlands Farm.
Processing: All of our wool roving begins as raw fleece, which is washed, dyed and carded right here outside of Thunder Bay in our on-site wool mill. In addition to raising the sheep ourselves, we are creating each wool product from start to finish out of our own fibre. We do not use chemical scouring. Our fibres are not bleached and we only use natural soaps. You will find little bits of hay that are easily picked out as a sign of these practices.

DISCLAIMER
We do our best to represent colours accurately, however not all screens are calibrated the same and colour may appear differently in person.
Small scale on-farm processing like ours means that there will be a small amount of vegetable matter (hay or straw bits). The weight of wool varies based on the humidity in the air, so all weights are approximations.
