We expanded into Lincoln Longwool sheep to get our hands on some lovely locks! These locks, otherwise known as curls, have been carefully handled to preserve their shape.

Locks are for spinners who want to add the colour or texture, as well as for felters adding embellishments. Locks are also used for hair on items such as dolls or fairies.

If you want to see them in person, they are currently in stock at the Thunder Bay Country Market.

Material: 100% Wool

Wool Breed: Lincoln Longwool

Source: 100% Ontario Wool from our farm

Processing: Washed* and dyed in our wool mill here in Thunder Bay.

Weight of fibre: approximately 2 oz.

Dye: Procion dyes

Please note that small scale processing like this means there will still be a small amount of vegetable matter in the wool (hay or straw bits). While we try our best, it is not possible for it to be 100% removed. We hope you see the occasional piece of straw as a reminder that your wool has come from a local family farm and that it has been processed in small batches in our on-site wool mill without the use of harsh chemicals.

*These locks have been minimally washed to preserve their shape. Depending on your application, you may want to carefully re-wash your locks.

  • DISCLAIMER

We do our best to represent colours accurately, however not all screens are calibrated the same and colour may appear differently in person. Please note that small scale processing like this means there will still be a small amount of vegetable matter in the wool (hay or straw bits). While we try our best, it is not possible for it to be 100% removed. We hope you see the occasional piece of straw as a reminder that your wool has come from a local family farm and that it has been hand-processed in small batches in our on-site wool mill without the use of harsh chemicals.
